The INTERNET OVER CABLE service is provided through the FttB (Fibre to the Building) type optical infrastructure built by IP NET. The main advantages of the service are: significantly higher quality compared to simple dial-up access, virtually unlimited time access to the Internet, without the need for a telephone line, flexible consumption planning, the ability to connect a local network to the Internet, which allows more than one user to work simultaneously on the network.

The speed of access and data transfer depends on the current workload.
Of course, this speed is influenced by the speed that the other server supports.

Simply put, a router is a device through which two different networks communicate. It can also be used for firewall.

Please keep your username and password in a safe place!
Don't share them with anyone!

To install this protocol, follow these steps:

1. From the start menu, select Control Panel

2. In the new window, select the Network and Internet menu

3. Select the Network and Sharing Centre menu

4. From the taskbar on the left, select Set up a connection or network

5. From the window that appears, select Connect to the Internet, then click Next.

6. Select the radio button No, create a new connection, then click Next.

7. Select Broadband (PPPoE)

8. In the new window, enter your username,
password and name for the newly created link. By pressing the Connect button, the new Internet access connection will automatically start.

9. If everything is normal, the message You are connected to the Internet will be displayed.

To install this protocol, follow these steps:
1. Downloading the "rp-pppoe" package from:
http://www.roaringpenguin.com/files/download/rp-pppoe-3.8.tar.gz
 2. After downloading, save it to /usr/local/src and follow these steps:
“cd /usr/local/src“
“tar zxvf rp-pppoe-3.5.tar.gz # For version rp-pppoe-3.5.tar.gz”
"cd rp-pppoe-3.5/src"
“./configure”
"make"
“make install”
3. Check that your interface is up, if not use one of the following commands:
“ifconfig eth0 up”
"ip link set up eth0″
If you have multiple network cards, you may need to replace eth0 with eth1.
 4. Once installed, the rp-pppoe configuration follows.
 5. Run the configure script:
 /usr/sbin/pppoe-setup
 6. Answer the series of questions:
6.1. >>> Enter your PPPoE user name (default username@pppoeserver):
Enter your username.
6.2. >>> Enter the Ethernet interface connected to the PPPOE
 For Solaris, this is likely to be something like /dev/hme0.
 For Linux, it will be ethn, where ‘n’ is a number.
 (default eth0):“
Enter the interface through which you connect to the Internet. An example of an answer is: eth0 or eth1
 6.3. Do you want the link to come up on demand, or stay up continuously?
 If you want it to come up on demand, enter the idle time in seconds
 after which the link should be dropped. If you want the link to
 stay up permanently, enter ‘no’ (two letters, lower-case.)
NOTE: Demand-activated links do not interact well with dynamic IP
 addresses. You may have some problems with demand-activated links.

Generally, you just click Enter to move on to the next question.
6.4. Please enter the IP address of your ISP's primary DNS server.
 If your ISP claims that ‘the server will provide DNS addresses',
enter ‘server’ (all lower-case) here.
 If you just click enter, I will assume you know what you are
 doing and not modify your DNS setup.

 0-None: This script will not set any firewall rules. You are responsible for ensuring the security of your machine. You are STRONGLY recommended to use some kind of firewall rules.
 1 – STANDALONE: Appropriate for a basic stand-alone web-surfing workstation
 2 – MASQUERADE: Appropriate for a machine acting as an Internet gateway
 for a LAN

7. We edit the configuration file with a text editor: "/etc/ppp/pppoe.conf"
7.1. Go to line: SERVICENAME=““ and enter “evronet’.
8. The connection to the PPPoE server is done by running the following script:
 /usr/sbin/pppoe-start
 8.1 Upon successful connection, you should see the message: "Connected!"
8.2 If the connection fails, the following is displayed: “………………… .TIMED OUT“
9. Interruption of work is done through the following script:
 /usr/sbin/pppoe-stop
 10. Other comments
10.1. In order to be able to connect to the PPPOE server, it is necessary that the Linux kernel has PPP support.
10.2. If a message is displayed when trying to access the Internet:
pppoe-start: There already seems to be an PPPOE connection up (PID 1447)
The following script must be run:
 /usr/sbin/pppoe-stop
and only then:
 /usr/sbin/pppoe-start
 11. Possible problems and troubleshooting:
With the command: ifconfig, check if there is a ppp connection. In most cases, this is a device ppp0.
With the command: route-n check the routing table. There must be a default fateway assigned using the created connection (ppp0).
If this is not the case, then look at the/etc/ppp/ip-up script where this configuration is set. If it doesn't exist, create it.

Setting up a PPPoE connection in MAC OS X (version 10.5 and above)
1. In the "Menu Bar", select the "Apple" icon and "System Preferences..." from the drop-down menu.

2. In “System Preferences”, select “Network”.

3. Select the button “+” (Create a new service), located in the lower left corner of the pop-up window.

4. Select "Interface" > "PPPoE".

5. From the "Ethernet" option, select the physical interface over which the connection will be made. Select “Ethernet” if the LAN cable goes directly into the computer or “AirPort” if the connection will be made via the wireless network.

6. In the “Service Name:” field, a connection name is given depending on the customer's preferences. Then click “Create”.

7. Once the connection appears in the list on the left side, the customer data is selected and filled in. Leave the field “PPPoE Service Name:” blank, then fill in Username (1) and Password (2). Bookmark the “Remember this password” (3) and “Show PPPoE status in menu bar” (4) and click “Apply” (5).

8. From the "Menu bar", select the icon with the connections and start the connection that was set up in the previous steps.

Disable TCP/IP protocol in MAC OS X (version 10.5 and above)
1. In the "Menu Bar", select the "Apple" icon and "System Preferences..." from the drop-down menu.

2. In “System Preferences”, select “Network”.

3. When connected to a LAN cable.
3.1. Select the "Ethernet" connection.

3.2. From the “Configure IPv4” drop-down menu, select “Off”.

3.3. Click “Apply”.

4. When connecting over the wireless network:
4.1. Select the “AirPort” wireless card connection and click “Advanced…”.

4.2. Select the “TCP/IP” option at the top of the window.

4.3. From the “Configure IPv4” drop-down menu, select “Off”. Click “OK” and then “Apply” in the main window.

IP NET is responsible for the proper functioning of the network facilities to the entry point in the office or home of the specific subscriber. The computer systems and the local network of the client organization are not subject to technical support by the ISP. However, in cases where technical assistance is required, the service is paid additionally at prices specified in the IP NET price list.

  • Price for a single visit - 10 €;

  • Router setup (customer-owned) - 10 € + 10 € per visit;
  • Problem with the client's settings due to their fault - 10 € + 10 € per visit;
  • Software problem in the hardware used by the client - 5 € + 10 € per visit;
  • Lack of connection due to customer interference in its internal wiring - 10 € + 10 € per visit;
  • Broken cable connector - 5 € + 10 € per visit;
  • Broken remote control - 10 € + 10 € per visit;
  • Broken HD STB receiver - 50 €;
  • Additional internal wiring at the request of the client - 1 €  per meter + 10 € per visit;

In this case, the most likely reasons are:

1. You have a virus that is jamming your international line.
2. You don't have a virus, but you have launched peer-to-peer programs, which again clog your international line.
3. You don't have a virus, you don't have peer2peer programs, but you download/upload information via HTTP/FTP/download accelerator or some other programs/protocols.
4. You are simply somehow using your international line.
